Pakistani Ambassador pays courtesy call on PM Oli



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli met with Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal, Abrar H. Hashmi, at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday.

The courtesy meeting focused on enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation in various sectors, including trade, tourism, agriculture, renewable energy, disaster management, education, and culture, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.

During the meeting, Oli highlighted Nepal’s efforts to reactivate the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) as the current chair, urging member states to play constructive roles.

He reiterated Nepal’s foreign policy of fostering friendship with all nations, based on the principle of “friendship with all, enmity with none,” while prioritizing sovereign and just national interests.

Ambassador Hashmi expressed Pakistan’s readiness to host the next SAARC summit and conveyed his country’s willingness to deepen cooperation with Nepal in various areas in the future.
