Searing heat forces four local levels in Mahottari to close schools



JALESWOR: Most of the schools and campuses have been closed in Mahottari district following scorching heat for the past one week.

The educational institutions of four local levels in the district have been closed for four days from today after heat wave started taking place since morning.

Similarly, other local levels have been making preparation to close the educational institutions.

Jaleshwor municipality has given holiday at all 29 educational institutions for four days effective from today after the temperature of the district reached 40-44 degree Celsius, said Mayor Suresh Sah Sonar.

Similarly, educational institutions in Manarasiswa municipality, Bardibas municipality and Mahottari rural municipality have also been closed.

With the scorching heat, number of patients suffering from fever, common cold and cough, diarrhea and typhoid has increased at Provincial Hospital, Jaleshwor.

Saptari’s Kanchanrup Municipality also announces school holiday Similarly, the Kanchanrup Municipality in Saptari district has also given a two-day holiday to schools within the municipality owing to the excessive increase in heat, beginning from today.

The Municipality, through a notice, urged schools to run classes from 6 am to 11am from September 26 to October 2.
