KATHMANDU: The bodies of 25 Indian nationals who lost their lives in the Tanahun bus accident have been repatriated to India.
The tragic accident occurred on Friday when a passenger bus carrying 43 Indian tourists plunged into the Marsyangdi River in Ainpahara, Anbu Khaireni Rural Municipality-2, Tanahun, along the Prithviraj Highway.
The deceased were transported to India by an Indian Air Force aircraft after autopsies were conducted in Chitwan.
Of the 27 victims, two bodies were sent to India via road.
Raksha Khadse, the Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports of India, arrived in Kathmandu on Saturday morning to meet the injured survivors and oversee the repatriation of the deceased.
