Nepali Embassy team to provide consular services in Portugal

KATHMANDU: A team from the Nepali Embassy in Paris, France, will visit Portugal to offer consular services, including document authentication, for Nepali nationals living and working in the country.

The embassy team, led by Nepali Ambassador to France and Non-Resident Nepali Ambassador to Portugal, Sudhir Bhattarai, is scheduled to arrive in Lisbon on August 29.

The initiative has been organized in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to address recent issues related to document authentication in Portugal.

The team will provide services such as verification of police character certificates, birth certificates, proof of kinship, marriage registrations, and other consular documents certified by the Department of Consular Services in Kathmandu.

The two-member team will remain in Lisbon for about a week, offering these services until September 3.

The Non-Resident Nepali Association in Portugal is supporting this initiative, with coordination and facilitation from other Nepali organizations active in the country.

This visit follows a mobile service camp conducted around two weeks ago by a joint team from the Department of Passport in Kathmandu and the Nepali Embassy in France.

That initiative, which focused on passport services, benefitted over 3,800 Nepali nationals in Lisbon.
