Hunger strike over Kamala River bridge construction called off



DHANUSHA: Youths who had initiated a hunger strike demanding the construction of a bridge over the Kamala River have called off their protest.

The proposed bridge is planned to be built on the border between Dhanusha and Siraha districts as part of the Postal Highway.

The hunger strike ended after a four-point agreement was reached with the Madhesh government.

On Friday, Chief Minister of Madhesh, Satish Kumar Singh, ended the fast by offering juice to the protesting youths.

As per the agreement, the Madhes government has committed to constructing a new bridge over the Kamala River.
