DHANUSHA: Minister for Energy, Irrigation and Water Supplies for the Madhesh Province, Shesh Narayan Yadav has instructed the Ministry’s subordinate bodies to submit the details of the incomplete project to the Ministry by a week.

Speaking at an orientation on project implementation organised by the Ministry today, the Minister directed this, according to Ministry Secretary Jakki Ahamad Ansari.

He also sought the institutional views on challenges to complete such projects. During the program, the government was urged to revise laws and draft new ones to avoid budget freeze in disaster management.

It is said chiefs of water resources, underground irrigation, and water supplies division offices demanded the management of mobile toilets, bleaching power to purify water, and water pipes given potential disasters.

They apprised that the Finance Ministry’s guidelines for the operations of projects and budget expenditures have caused inconvenience in the implementation of projects, underlining the need to amend such guidelines.

Stating that there are challenges to conclude some projects that have already achieved 60-70 percent progress due to budgetary issues, they urged the Minister to ensure budget through budget amendments and transfer.

In response, the Ministry pledged to address adversities in projects implementation due to the Finance Ministry’s guidelines and the budget constraint.
