KATHMANDU: It has been nine years since Barpak in Gorkha was struck by a devastating earthquake in 2072 BS.

The catastrophe claimed the lives of around 9,000 people, affecting regions spanning Gorkha, Dolakha, Sindhupalchok, Kavre, and the Kathmandu Valley.

Despite the immense loss and destruction, today, Barpak, the epicenter of the Baishak 12, 2072 BS earthquake, stands as a testament to resilience and reconstruction.

The community has risen from the ruins, displaying remarkable strength and determination to rebuild.

Recent images of Barpak showcase the transformation and progress made over the past nine years, highlighting the resilience and spirit of its inhabitants as they work tirelessly to reconstruct their lives and homes.

As Barpak continues its journey of recovery, the rebuilding efforts serve as an inspiration and a symbol of hope for other earthquake-affected regions in Nepal.
