Nepal’s Army Chief meets with French and UAE ambassadors



KATHMANDU: Ashok Raj Sigdel, the Chief of Army Staff of Nepal, held separate diplomatic meetings with French Ambassador Virginie Corteval and United Arab Emirates Ambassador Abdullah Saeed Mubarak Jarwan Al Shamsi at the Nepal Army Headquarters in Kathmandu on Monday.

In the discussions, Sigdel explored strengthening mutual cooperation and bolstering diplomatic and defense ties between Nepal and the two nations.

According to a statement from the Nepali Army, these meetings are seen as crucial steps toward fostering stronger, more harmonious relationships.

The exchanges come amid broader regional efforts to enhance military collaboration and diplomatic engagement with foreign powers, reinforcing Nepal’s position as a key partner in both South Asian and global security dialogues.

The Nepali Army emphasized that such engagements contribute to the ongoing efforts to deepen bilateral relations, particularly in areas of mutual security and strategic interests.
