Home Minister Lekhak assures thorough investigation into murder of Former State Minister



KATHMANDU: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has confirmed that the police have initiated a detailed investigation into the murder of former State Minister for Land Reform, Ram Chandra Raya.

Speaking at a House of Representatives meeting today, Lekhak reported that the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has already dispatched a team to the murder site at Chandra Nagar Rural Municipality in Sarlahi.

The 80-year-old Raya was found dead at a farm in Sarlahi, reportedly murdered with a sharp-edged weapon.

“Investigations are underway, with individuals working at Raya’s residence currently under control. We are also searching for three unidentified suspects,” the Home Minister stated.

He added that a team of senior officers and a technical team from the CIB has been deployed to conduct a thorough investigation at the scene.

The murder occurred on Sunday, and authorities are working diligently to resolve the case.
