NEA to restore power supply to six industries following PM Oli’s directive

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has decided to restore power supply to six industries that had previously been disconnected due to disputes over dedicated feeder and trunk lines.

In a board meeting held on Tuesday, the NEA resolved to reconnect power to Arghakhanchi Cement, Reliance Spinning Mills, Ghorahi Cement, Jagadamba Synthetic, Jagadamba Steel, and Hulas Steel.

The power supply to these industries was cut last week due to outstanding dues.

The decision follows a directive from Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to restore power to these industries.

NEA’s Executive Director Kulman Ghising initially refused to comply with the Prime Minister’s directive, leading the government to consider removing him from his position.
