Woman killed in tiger attack in Bardiya



KATHMANDU: Today, tragedy struck in Bardiya district as a woman lost her life in a tiger attack.

The victim, identified as Manisha Rokaya, 35, hailing from Hasanapur in Baijanath rural municipality-8 of the neighboring Banke district, succumbed to the attack.

According to Tulsiram Aryal, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Bardiya District Police Office, Rokaya fell victim to the tiger attack near Janachetana community forest in Bansgadhi municipality-4.

Fortunately, her sister, Kailash Pati Tharu, 40, managed to escape the ordeal.

The two sisters were en route to Bansgadhi municipality-4 when the incident occurred.

Prabin Bidari, Chief of the Division Forest Office in Bardiya, confirmed that investigations into the tragic incident were underway.
