KATHMANDU: The Ubhauli festival, celebrated primarily by the Kirant Rai community, is being observed across the country today.
The Kirant community gathered at Hattiban in the Lalitpur district to mark the occasion.
Ubhauli is a festival where the Kirant community worships nature before planting crops to ensure a good harvest.
The celebration features traditional dances such as the Chandi dance and the Sakela dance, which are performed by different sects of the Kirant community.
