KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has assured that the depositers money in cooperatives will be paid back to even through ordinances.

Speaking at an election rally held in Chulachuli, Ilam on Tuesday, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Lamichhane stated that the government will create an environment where the public’s money will be returned, whether through policies, laws, or amendments.

“The government is working on this matter, and I am regularly discussing it with the Prime Minister. Even if laws are to be introduced through ordinances, savings of the people will be returned,” said Lamichhane. ” I have heard officials pointing out the legal restrictions to auction the collateral of the operators; however, let me assure, the government will ensure justice to victims even by amending laws through ordinances.”

While acknowledging that Ilam had been subject to deceit by the political parties in the past, Lamichhane also claimed that now Ilam will resist any undue influence even in the by-elections.

“Ilam has been deceived so far, but this time, the people of Ilam will use their discretion wisely and cast their votes, demonstrating their free will,” he said.

Deputy Prime Minister Lamichhane expressed confidence that RSP would garner a majority in 2084 BS.

Challenging the old parties for not addressing citizens’ issues for years, Lamichhane asked the Ilam people whether they would still vote for old parties or change their stance.
