Enhanced security measures implemented in Kathmandu Valley for safe Holi celebration

900 police personnel to be mobilized, checkpoints at more than 90 locations



KATHMANDU: In preparation for the Holi celebration, the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office has initiated extensive measures to ensure safety and orderliness.

A total of 900 police personnel would be deployed throughout the valley to mitigate accidents and uphold traffic regulations.

According to the Valley Traffic Police Office, 90 checkpoints would be strategically established at various locations and entry points across the valley, beginning from 7 AM.

Additionally, 30 mobile vans will be actively monitoring traffic activities, providing flexibility and swift response wherever necessary.

Jeeven Kumar Shrestha, the spokesperson for the Valley Traffic Police Office, confirmed the deployment of the personnel and emphasized the strict enforcement of traffic rules.

Those found violating traffic regulations will face stringent actions.

Moreover, the checkpoints and police presence will not only monitor traffic but also address other issues such as unauthorized use of colors and water, excessive noise, and conflicts.

Stringent measures will be taken against individuals engaging in such activities without consent.
