KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML, the main opposition party, has pressed the government to present the investigation report of the Balkumari incident in the parliament.

During the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting on Friday, CPN-UML lawmaker Yogesh Bhattarai called upon the government to share the report with the parliament.

Furthermore, Bhattarai emphasized that Minister Prakash Jwala, implicated by the investigation commission in the incident, along with Prime Minister acknowledging the deaths of two youths, should step down from his positions. He also urged Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha to resign.

CPN-UML has consistently demanded the resignation of these ministers concerning the incident.

It is pertinent to note that the Balkumari incident resulted in the deaths of two youths during a clash between EPS Korean language students and security personnel in Lalitpur, where security personnel opened fire.
