84 individuals denied boarding on visit visas at TIA

KATHMANDU: The Immigration Office at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has prevented 84 individuals from boarding flights to various countries on visit visas in the past 24 hours.

Gogan Bahadur Hamal, the Head of the Immigration Office, stated that the returned individuals intended to travel to destinations such as Dubai, Qatar, Bahrain, and other countries.

Hamal explained that these individuals, purportedly traveling on visit visas, failed to complete the visa process, leading to their repatriation.

Upon scrutinizing their documents, including visas, discrepancies were identified, raising suspicions that they might have alternative motives beyond the stated purpose of their visit, according to immigration officials.

The Immigration Department has initiated a crackdown on individuals attempting to work illegally in different countries under the guise of a visit visa.

This stringent approach aims to curb unauthorized employment and maintain the integrity of the visa application process.
