Two Indians arrested in Kapilvastu with 20.5 million Indian rupees

KAPILVASTU: Police have arrested two Indian nationals in Kapilvastu, seizing 20 lakh 50 thousand Indian rupees from an undisclosed source.

The arrested individuals are 33-year-old Salman Kuresiya and Umesh Sakharam Khandage, resident of Mumbai, Maharashtra.

According to the District Police Office in Kapilvastu, they were apprehended in Krishnanagar Municipality-2.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohan Mani Adhikari said that a substantial amount of cash was discovered during a routine check on two vehicles traveling from India to Nepal at around 9 PM last night.

The police seized 8 lakh from the vehicle with registration number UP 45 AS 6663 and 12 lakh 50 thousand from the vehicle with registration number UP 42 DT 5721.

As the individuals could not provide a legitimate source for the funds, police took immediate action, arresting them and initiating an investigation.
