Laxmi Prasad Pokharel wins Dailekh-2 seat for CPN-UML



DAILEKH: Laxmi Prasad Pokharel of the CPN-UML has been elected to the House of Representatives from Dailekh 2.

According to the final results released by the Election Officer’s Office, Pokharel secured 13,889 votes to win the seat. His closest rival, Dikpal Kumar Shahi of the Nepali Congress, received 9,552 votes, election officer Lokhari Kandel said.

Bakhat Shahi of the Rastriya Swatantra Party garnered 6,797 votes, while Yogendra Shahi of the Nepal Communist Party received 3,851 votes. Bakhat Thapa of the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party secured 1,512 votes and Babita Shahi of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party obtained 337 votes.
