Pacific Angel Exercise between Nepali Army and U.S. Army concludes



KATHMANDU: The Pacific Angel 24-2 Exercise has concluded, featuring collaboration between the Nepali Army and U.S. Pacific Air Forces.

This initiative aimed to enhance humanitarian assistance and disaster response capabilities through military, civilian, and non-governmental organization cooperation, while also improving search and rescue operations between the United States and Nepal.

The exercise included expert exchanges on various critical areas, such as aircraft maintenance, aircrew operations, personnel recovery in challenging terrains, swift water and flood recovery, patient transport, and medical responses to hazardous materials.

For some time, the Nepali Army and U.S. Army have been engaged in exercises focused on disaster management and humanitarian assistance, which have proven instrumental in enhancing disaster response capabilities.

These efforts have facilitated knowledge exchange and bolstered military professionalism.

This edition of the exercise marked the fourth installment since its inception in 2012, emphasizing the sharing of knowledge and best practices to improve the effectiveness of search and rescue operations during diverse disaster scenarios.
