Heritage cleanup campaign in Begnas Lake

GANDAKI: The second edition of a heritage cleanup campaign launched by the Employees Union Centre in Pokhara concluded today by cleaning the Begnas Lake.

Centre Chair Loknath Acharya said that the campaign has been launched under the coordination of the Centre to clean up the natural and cultural heritages of Pokhara region on the 5th day of every month.

Patron of the Centre, Kaski Chief District Officer Bharat Mani Pandey said conservation of natural resources is the responsibility of one and all and expressed the belief that such programs would make the general public aware about cleanliness.

Today’s cleanliness was focused on the garden in front of Begnas Lake, the banks of the lake through the dam and the surrounding area.

Representatives of security agencies, civil servants, civil society leaders, local tourism entrepreneurs and others participated in the cleanliness drive.
