KATHMANDU: Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Rajendra Lingden has come down heavily on Nepali Congress and CPN-UML for failing to ensure stability in the country.
Lingden said this while speaking during today’s meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR).
Stating his party’s intention to vote against Prime Minister KP Oli, he highlighted that despite the communist parties securing a significant majority, governmental stability has been elusive.
He pointed out historical instances where even Nepali Congress, on its own, failed to ensure stability.
Lingden stated, “Currently, there is no stability in the country due to the dominance of two main parties. They fragment into smaller factions as needed, coexisting through petty intrigues. The arithmetic alone should not dictate governance—why did governments fail to complete their terms despite Nepali Congress repeatedly securing majorities?”
He emphasized the need to reform the electoral and appointment processes outlined in the constitution, arguing against the appointment of party affiliates to judicial positions.
