Heavy rainfall expected today



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecast Division has stated that the country is currently under the influence of monsoon wind, with the monsoon low-pressure line positioned south of normal place.

According to the Division, there is a widespread change in weather conditions across the country.

Areas in the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces are experiencing light to moderate rainfall.

Today, the weather will be partly to mostly cloudy nationwide.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning in some areas of the Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, including the hilly regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, with a few places in other regions also likely to experience these conditions.

Heavy rainfall is expected at one or two locations in the Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

Tonight, Sudurpaschim Province is expected to see light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in many places, while similar conditions are anticipated in several areas of the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, and a few spots in Madhesh Province.

Over the next 24 hours, there is a potential for heavy rain in certain areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The Division has advised residents to take necessary precautions to mitigate risks such as flash floods, floods, landslides, and soil erosion in these provinces.
