Rasuwa customs collects Rs 585.5 million in fines



RASUWA: The customs office in Rasuwa has collected Rs 585.5 million in fines from traders who attempted to evade customs duties by underreporting the quantity of goods imported from China.

Chief Customs Officer Ram Prasad Pathak reported that this amount was collected over the last 11 months of the current fiscal year.

He stated that from July 17, 2023, to June 14, 2024, goods worth Rs 59.787 billion have been imported from China, while goods worth Rs 1.847 billion have been exported to China through the Rasuwa customs office in the Fiscal Year 2023/24.

Officer Pathak also highlighted a significant increase in revenue collection.

The customs office collected Rs 19.172 billion in revenue during this period, exceeding the annual target by 165 percent.
