Janamat Party cadres padlock Agriculture University in protest as Janata Samajbadi Chair scheduled to inaugurate

JANAKPUR: Ruling Janamat Party cadres have padlocked the Province Agriculture University, protesting against issues such as political interference, allegations of corruption, and other irregularities within the university.

“We are demanding an end to the political interference that the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) has been engaging in. Our demand is for the university to operate independently,” stated Janamat’s Central Secretary, BP Sah.

JSP Chairman Upendra Yadav is scheduled to inaugurate the university building on Monday.

However, a disagreement has arisen between Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav and Education and Culture Minister Mahesh Prasad Yadav regarding the construction of the building.

The Chief Minister wants JSP Chair Upendra to inaugurate the building, while Education Minister Yadav prefers Janamat Party Chair Dr. CK Raut to preside over the ceremony.

The construction of this university building is set to take place in the constituency of both Upendra Yadav and CK Raut (Saptari-2).

If Upendra becomes the chief guest and lays the foundation stone for the university building in Rajbiraj Municipality-13, it is anticipated to pose a challenging situation for the Janamat Party.

“CK Raut is an honorable figure in this region. Making someone who lost an election the chief guest may not be acceptable,” remarked a Janamat leader.
