KATHMANDU: The Muglin-Naubise road section along the Prithvi Highway will be partially closed for a week starting Sunday afternoon to allow for road improvements, including rock wall cutting at Pokharevhir and Bishaltar.

The road will be closed for three hours each day, from 11 am to 2 pm from December 22 to 28. The work is part of efforts to improve the road’s safety and accessibility.

Engineer Vijay Darai of the Nagdhunga-Muglin Road Project West Section said that heavy vehicles entering Gajuri from Naubise will be halted at Galchhi-Baireni, while light vehicles will be stopped at Jarekhet.

Similarly, heavy vehicles from Chitwan heading to Naubise will be stopped at Chalise, with light vehicles halted at Ghatbesi.

For the Bishaltar bend improvement, heavy vehicles entering Malekhu from Muglin will be stopped at Majhimtar, and light vehicles will be stopped at Charaundi Bazaar.

Vehicles heading from Malekhu to Muglin will be stopped at Benighat Bazaar for heavy vehicles and at Bishalaltar for light vehicles.
