Over 1,700 new industries registered in Karnali



SURKHET: In the current fiscal year, 1,795 small industries have been registered in 10 districts of Karnali province.

On the other hand, 410 such industries have been abrogated.

According to the Directorate of Industry and Consumer Protection of Karnali Province, compared to the registration and renewal, about a quarter of the industries have been abrogated in the fiscal year 2080-81.

Similarly, 166 industries were annulled in Surkhet, 81 in Jumla, 37 in Kalikot, 35 in Salyan, 28 in Dailekh and Jajarkot, 22 in Rukum Paschim, seven in Humla and six in Mugu.

Information officer of the Directorate Theer Bahadur Shrestha said that most of the small industries such as hotels, restaurants and agricultural farms were decided to scrap.

He said that if the industry is not abrogated, another industry will not be allowed to be registered, and because they will be fined a lot, the industries run with small investments have been cancelled.

In the last fiscal year, 1,795 new industries were registered and 2,055 industries were renewed.

According to the directorate, there are 132 new and 236 renewals in Salyan, 153 new and 83 renewals in Jajarkot, 110 and 74 renewals in Rukum Paschim.
