Woman killed, 26 injured in road accident



SAPTARI: A woman died on the spot while 26 others were injured in a road accident that took place at Barmajhiya of Kanchanpur municipality this morning.

The deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Maiya Rai of Udayapur.

According to the local police office in Kanchanpur, among the injured eight were seriously injured and have been sent to Biratnagar for treatment.

Another 18 injured people are undergoing treatment at the local Dharmeshwar Hospital.

The accident occurred when the bus en route to Kakadbhitta in Jhapa from Gaighat, Udayapur tried to avoid a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction, police said.
