MYAGDI: Both tourists and locals have been bearing the brunt of obstruction to the Ghodepani roadway in Annapurna rural municipality-6.

Ghodepani is a famous tourist destination in Nepal. The transportation to Ghodepani has been disrupted for a month due to a landslide occurred at the stretch of Ghar to Chitre in Annapurna rural municipality-5.

The road obstruction has caused sheer inconvenience to the supply of daily essentials for the locals, tourists and hotel entrepreneurs at famous tourist destination, according to a hotel entrepreneur Tara Pun.

“Although the tourist season is beginning soon, the disruption in transportation after road block is a cause for concern,” he added.

The road is damaged in 10 meters stretch, thereby causing disruption in vehicular movement.

More than 30,000 foreign tourists visit Ghodepani every year while the number of domestic tourist is over.

Ghodepani is a place convenient to have sight of majestic mountains along with lush Guranse forest, bewitching sun rise at Punhil in vicinity.

However, Chairman of Annapurna rural municipality-6, Ram Bahadur Khadka, informed that local level was preparing for upgrading an alternative road to reach Ghodepani via Khiwang to Peribharani.
