Constitution guarantees rights for all citizens: PM Oli

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli has stated that the Constitution of Nepal guarantees rights for all citizens.

In his remarks on the Constitution and National Day, he emphasized that the Constitution safeguards the sentiments of diverse ideas, communities, geographies, genders, castes, and religions.

Reflecting on the decades-long struggle and numerous sacrifices that led to its establishment, the Prime Minister noted that it is the responsibility of every citizen to protect the governance system chosen by the people and the Constitution created by the Constituent Assembly.

He asserted that only by safeguarding the Constitution can the rights enjoyed by citizens be preserved.

The Prime Minister urged today’s generation to remember the despotism that the people endured for so long.

Recalling the oppression of the past, Prime Minister Oli expressed that the memories of living under autocratic rule serve as a stark reminder of what it means to lose freedom.

Wishing all Nepalis a happy Constitution Day, he encouraged everyone to ensure a secure future by cherishing the freedoms granted by the Constitution.
