Monetary Policy delayed following appointment of Dr. Khatiwada as Economic Adviser

KATHMANDU: The scheduled release of Nepal’s monetary policy has been delayed.

The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) was initially set to unveil the policy today.

The delay is attributed to recent changes in the government, including the appointment of Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada as the Economic Adviser to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

A source at the NRB stated, “Dr. Khatiwada has shown some concerns over the policy, and it needs further discussion, so the policy won’t be published on Friday.”

Previously, Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari had planned to release the policy today after a briefing with Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel.
