Weather influenced by monsoon winds

KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecast Division has reported that the current weather is influenced by monsoon wind across the country, coupled with the partial effect of a low-pressure system near India’s Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

Currently, the weather is partly to mostly cloudy in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the rest of the country is experiencing partly cloudy to mostly clear conditions.

The Division has stated that the weather will remain partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly areas of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and partly cloudy to mainly clear in the rest of the country.

There is a chance of light to moderate rain, along with thunder and lightning, in some hilly areas, including Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The Terai region in Lumbini Province may also experience storms.

Tonight, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy in the hilly areas, including Koshi and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy to mainly clear skies.

Light to moderate rain is possible at one or two locations in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali regions.

In the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with thunder is likely in some hilly areas, including Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in a few other locations.

The Division has anticipated storms in parts of Lumbini and the Terai region of Sudurpaschim Province.
