NEPSE index up by 5 points



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index posted a marginal gain of 5.08 points, closing at 2,613.08.

In today’s trading, shares of 311 companies exchanged hands 69,840 times, with a total of 11.6 million shares traded. The turnover amounted to Rs 6.19 billion.

Among the sectors, the banking group fell by 0.35%, finance by 1.03%, hydropower by 0.92%, mutual funds by 0.48%, and trading by 2.10%. Meanwhile, all other sectoral indices recorded gains.

Development banks rose by 0.19%, hotels and tourism by 0.78%, investment by 0.74%, life insurance by 1.10%, and manufacturing and processing by 0.89%. Similarly, microfinance gained 0.03%, non-life insurance climbed 1.78%, and the “others” group saw a 2.79% increase.

Mandakini Hydropower Limited hit a positive circuit today, while River Falls Power Limited recorded the highest loss with its share price falling by 8.96%.

In terms of transaction value, the highest turnover was seen in CEDB Hydropower Development Limited, with shares worth Rs 237.6 million traded. Prabhu Select Fund recorded the highest number of shares traded, with 475,900 units exchanging hands.
