ANFA Vice Chairman Lama released after arrest

KATHMANDU: Dawa Lama, Vice Chairman of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), was arrested in Kathmandu on Wednesday but has now been released.

The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office brought Lama to the High Court, where an order for his release was issued.

Lama had been detained in connection with a drug-related case and had previously been sentenced to five years in prison by the then Patan Appeal Court in 2064 BS for involvement in a drug offense.

Following Lama’s petition at the Supreme Court challenging the High Court’s order, the High Court ruled in favor of his release.
