BIRGUNJ: A workshop aimed at countering misleading and false information concluded in Birgunj.

Project Jagaran, an initiative led by a group of young individuals associated with the United States Youth Council (USYC) in Nepal, organized the event to empower young people against the spread of misleading information.

The workshop took place at Global Business College in Birgunj, where USYC members presented informative materials crafted to combat misleading and false information.

Over the course of approximately two hours, participants were educated on various methods to distinguish between accurate and deceptive information.

Srija Khanal, the Coordinator of Project Jagaran, emphasized the urgency of addressing the rampant spread of false information on social media.

She stated, “To mitigate this issue and facilitate a better understanding of the distinction between false and true information among the general public, we initiated Project Jagaran.”

Khanal explained that Project Jagaran involves conducting sessions to reduce the impact of false information and serves as a campaign to empower the community by raising awareness among the youth against misleading information.
