KATHMANDU: The commission investigating Tribhuvan University’s land and property misuse has submitted its report to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Tuesday.
In a meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, commission member Mahendra Thapa handed over the report in the presence of Minister of Education, Science and Technology Bidya Bhattarai and university officials.
The report highlights the status and misuse of TU’s land across 21 campuses in Kathmandu Valley, including Kirtipur, Naikap, Dhungeadda, and Patan, while proposing solutions for their proper utilization.
Prime Minister Oli assured swift action on the findings, stating, “The commission was formed under capable leadership. We will implement its recommendations without delay and conduct further studies as needed.”
The commission, originally chaired by former Secretary Sharada Prasad Trital, recommends referring cases of land misuse to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) and the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police for legal action.
