KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress, the main opposition party, has stated that it does not need to topple the current government, as it will fall on its own.

Ramesh Lekhak, the leader of the Nepali Congress parliamentary party, said that the party is not involved in the process of forming and dismantling the government.

“Nepali Congress does not need to topple this government; it will topple itself,” Lekhak told Khabarhub.

He noted the emergence of mistrust and problems within the ruling alliance, indicating that the Nepali Congress is observing the situation closely, but not participating directly in it.

“The government is unbalanced. We are watching it seriously,” he added.

There were suspicions that the United Socialist Party might break away from the ruling alliance.

However, it does not appear that the alliance will immediately break up after the Unified Socialist Party secured the Chief Ministerial position in Sudurpaschim Province.

Despite this, the Nepali Congress noted that there has been a shift within the ruling coalition.

The Unified Socialist has warned that cooperation could end if they were not given responsibilities in accordance with consensus.

Rajendra Pandey, vice-chairman of the United Socialist Party, told Khabarhub, “Anything can happen.”
