First Oasis Women’s Gold Cup: Semi-finals today

ILAM: In the inaugural Oasis Women’s Gold Cup football tournament, the first semi-final will feature a clash between Manebhanjyang Football Club from Darjeeling, India, and Nawabuddha Youth Club Saptari.

The second semi-final will witness a match between Dipendra Shikhar Football Club Rong, Ilam, and Birtamod United, Jhapa, as announced by Chang Mukhiya, the president of the host club, Oasis.

In the previous quarterfinal match on Friday, Nawabuddha Youth Club Saptari secured a spot in the semi-finals by defeating United Deumai with a 2-0 victory.

Mamata Pun Magar scored twice for Nawabuddha in the 3rd and 20th minutes of the match.

Similarly, Birtamod United dominated the last quarterfinal match on Friday, defeating India’s Patna Football Club with a scoreline of 5-0.

Samiksha Magar completed a hat-trick for Birtamod, while Simran Rai and Monica Ghale also contributed to the team’s victory.

The tournament’s final match is scheduled for February 19.

The champion will be awarded the gold cup along with a cash prize of Rs 200,000, while the runner-up will receive Rs 100,000.

Eight teams from Nepal and India are participating in this competition.
