BHOJPUR: Former General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Krishna Prasad Sitaula, has expressed confidence that the current identity issue will be resolved, just as the prolonged conflict was brought to an end through mutual understanding.

While addressing the people’s representatives in Bhojpur on Wednesday, Sitaula mentioned that discussions about the identity issue would take place after the National Assembly (NA) election concludes.

The Election Commission has scheduled the NA elections for 19 members  on January 25.

“Having successfully resolved a significant conflict and struggle, mutual understanding and dialogues are essential to find a solution to the ongoing identity issue, we are committed to address identity issue through discussion,” he said.

Leader Sitaula appealed to the voters to support political parties and leaders aligned with the constitution and the people.

“Cast your votes for the parties within the ruling coalition that uphold the federal democratic republic,” he urged, emphasizing the need for collaboration among all parties to overcome the challenges currently faced by the nation.
