Local and westerly winds impacting Nepal’s weather



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has reported a partial influence of local and westerly winds across the country.

According to the Division, the weather is currently partly cloudy in the hilly regions, including Koshi Province, while the rest of the country remains mostly clear.

By this afternoon, the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces are expected to experience partly to generally cloudy conditions, with the remainder of the country continuing to see mainly clear skies.

There is a chance of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at one or two locations within the hilly regions of these provinces.

Light rain and snowfall are also likely at one or two spots in the higher hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces.

Tonight, partly cloudy conditions are forecast in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali, while the rest of the country is expected to remain mostly clear.

The Division has advised the public to take necessary precautions against potential impacts from thunder, lightning, rainfall, snowfall, and heat.
