Petrol to cost Rs 171 per liter from today

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced a reduction in petroleum prices, effective from today.

Following a meeting of the NOC Board of Directors, it was decided that the price of petrol would be slashed by Rs 7 per liter, with diesel and kerosene seeing a reduction of Rs 5 per liter.

With these adjustments, the retail price of petrol will stand at Rs 168.5 per liter for consumers in the first cluster, encompassing Charlali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj.

In the second cluster, comprising Surkhet and Dang, it will be Rs 170 per liter, while consumers in the third cluster, including Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal depots, will see a price of Rs 171 per liter.

The decision to revise prices comes in response to the updated price list from the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Nepal’s petroleum product supplier, according to NOC Spokesperson Manoj Thakur.
