KATHMANDU: Following the stampede at Tundikhel during the Maghe Sankranti celebration on Monday, 15 out of the 16 injured individuals have been discharged after receiving treatment at Bir Hospital.
As of now, one person is still undergoing treatment at the hospital, as reported by Kumod Dungel, the spokesperson for the Kathmandu District Police Office.
The incident occurred during the gathering at Tundikhel to commemorate the Maghi and Maghe Sankranti programs, separately organized by the Tharu and Magar communities.
The crowded assembly led to a stampede, resulting in injuries to 16 individuals.
The injured have been identified as Trisana Magar (12), Anjana Tamang (12), Rejina Ghale (19), Nikita Magar (16), Rekha Chaudhary (30), Anisha KC (16), Kalpana Chaudhary (25), Mandira Basnet (22), Mina Thapa (40), Rija Magar (19), and Police personnel Prthivi Budamagar, Nisha Rana Thapa (25), Nirmala Shrestha (22), Reshmi Nepal (27), Yunika Baral (11), and Karishma Magar (14). The discharged individuals have received medical attention and are now recovering from the unfortunate incident.
