Education Minister vows to implement academic calendar in university

KATHMANDU: Newly-appointed Minister for Education, Science and Technology Bidhya Bhattarai has said that finalizing the Education Act was one of her key priorities.

Assuming the office at the ministry today, Minister Bhattarai said the current issues in the education sector should be resolved by finalizing the bill which is in the Health, Education and Information Technology Committee of parliament.

Likewise, Minister Bhattarai took the first decision on the implementation of the need-based school nutrition framework development program.

The program is being implemented from the budget allocated for the upcoming fiscal year.

On the occasion, Minister Bhattarai said she would focus on quality enhancement of community school education.

Furthermore, Bhattarai, a university teacher turned politician, said she would equally stress the implementation of an academic calendar in the university.
