Home Minister Lamichhane urges immediate action for crime control

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has issued directives to security officials across all 77 districts to crack down on smuggling, hooliganism, and the exploitation of natural resources.

In a virtual address from the Ministry of Home Affairs this evening, he emphasized that there is no need to await instructions from higher authorities to combat criminal activities.

Deputy Prime Minister Lamichhane emphasized that the prevailing practice of exerting pressure for transfers, promotions, and shielding individuals even in cases of wrongdoing is unacceptable under any circumstances.

During the event, Home Secretary Yek Narayan Aryal, Inspector General of Police Basant Kunwar, Inspector General of Armed Police Force Raju Aryal, and other officials provided guidance to District Security Committee officials on matters relating to security, governance, service delivery, civil service, and other pertinent issues.
