KATHMANDU: In a thrilling opener of the ICC CWC League 2, Namibia emerged victorious over Nepal by a margin of four wickets at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kathmandu.
Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, Namibia’s decision paid off as they managed to restrict Nepal to a modest total of 132 runs in the initial innings.
During Nepal’s innings, Sompal Kami and Lalit Rajbanshi displayed commendable bowling performances, securing three and two wickets respectively.
Captain Rohit Poudel also contributed to the bowling attack, claiming one wicket for the team.
In pursuit of the target, Namibia showcased a determined batting display.
JN Frylinck led the charge with a notable contribution of 34 runs, while M Van Lingen and JN Loftie-Eaton added 23 and 31 runs respectively, bolstering the team’s total.
