KATHMANDU: The ongoing statute convention of CPN (Maoist Center) in Kamaladi, Kathmandu, is nearing its conclusion today.

Led by Prime Minister and party Chairman, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the convention has been a forum for deliberating over the party’s statute.

A draft was presented by Chairman Dahal himself, setting the stage for a structured refinement process.

Twenty groups were tasked with studying and presenting suggestions, with thirteen already having submitted their recommendations.

The remaining seven are slated to reveal theirs today.

Among the key topics of discussion has been the potential change of the party’s name and symbol.

However, sources within the party suggest that altering the name appears unlikely.

Chairman Dahal, it is reported, is not in favor of changing the party’s name.

Despite various groups advocating for a change, the sentiment within the leadership seems to lean towards maintaining the current identity.

Harka Nembang, a prominent Maoist Center leader from Koshi Province, affirmed that while Chairman Dahal may be open to reconsidering the party’s symbol, the name change is off the table for now.

As the convention draws to a close, the party’s stance on these critical matters will become clearer, shaping the future trajectory of CPN (Maoist Center).
