KATHMANDU: A total of 1,076 complaints have been filed with the District Code of Conduct Monitoring Committees and monitoring officers ahead of the March 5 House of Representatives (HoR) election.
According to the Election Commission, 1,061 complaints, about 99 percent of the total, have already been resolved.
Province-wise, the highest number of complaints was recorded in Lumbini Province with 244 cases, while Sudurpashchim Province reported the lowest at 96.
Of the total complaints, 97 were submitted in writing, while 979 were received via telephone, SMS and other channels.
The Commission said most complaints were related to the use of banners and flags exceeding the prescribed size. Other issues included misuse of social media and noise pollution caused by DJ sound systems.
Complaints were also lodged against teachers, government employees and local representatives for participating in promotional activities, displaying party flags in public places and on vehicles, and using vehicles without prior permission.
