Nepal stumbles early against Namibia, loses three wickets in opening overs

KATHMANDU: Nepal encountered a challenging start against Namibia, enduring the loss of three crucial wickets within the first four overs of the match.

Despite winning the toss earlier, Namibia elected to bowl first in the inaugural match of the ICC CWC League 2, unfolding at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kathmandu.

The early blows for Nepal began with Kushal Bhurtel departing for a duck in the very first over, swiftly followed by the dismissal of Anil Shah, who managed eight runs, in the subsequent over.

The trend of wickets falling persisted as Aasif Sheikh, contributing four runs, succumbed in the fourth over after being caught out.

As the match progresses into the sixth over, Bhim Sarki and Rohit Poudel have taken to the crease, striving to stabilize Nepal’s innings.

Currently, Nepal stands at 15 runs for the loss of three wickets.
