Employment and self-reliance through education: PM Oli
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said country would create employments and self-reliance through quality education.
Education that helps us create employment would lead the country towards self-reliance, he underlined.
PM Oli was addressing the first session of the 30th convocation ceremony of the Kathmandu University (KU) at Dhulikhel on Saturday.
Kathmandu’s temperature drops to 2 degrees Celsius
The minimum temperature in Kathmandu Valley has further decreased today.
At 5:45 am today (Saturday), the temperature in Kathmandu was recorded at 2.5 degrees Celsius, and by 8:45 am, it had dropped to 2 degrees Celsius.
According to the Weather Forecasting Division, this is the lowest temperature recorded in Kathmandu this year.
NPL: Kathmandu defeats Pokhara by 6 wickets
Kathmandu Gurkhas secured their third victory in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) with a comfortable 6-wicket win over Pokhara Avengers in today’s match at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
Chasing a target of 139 runs set by Pokhara, Kathmandu reached the required total in just 14 overs and 1 ball, losing 4 wickets along the way.
Opener Stephen was the top scorer for Kathmandu with 60 runs. He was well-supported by Michael (32), Gerard Erasmus (25), and Bhim Sarki (22).
NPL: Chitwan Rhinos defeats Janakpur Bolts by 32 runs
Chitwan Rhinos defeated Janakpur Bolts by 32 runs, bolstering their chances of reaching the playoffs, in the second match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) today.
Despite the loss, Janakpur Bolts remain at the top of the table with 10 points from seven matches and have already secured a playoff spot.
Chitwan now has eight points from seven games, tied with Sudurpaschim Royals (five matches) and Karnali Yaks (six matches).
Chief of Army Staff Sigdel reviews Indian Military Academy cadet parade
Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Ashok Raj Sigdel, currently on an official visit to India, inspected the final parade of officer cadets at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun today.
During the event, CoAS Sigdel presented insignias to the newly commissioned officers and engaged in interactions with them, according to the Directorate of Public Relations and Information of the Nepal Army.
The Nepal Army has been sending its officer cadets to train at the IMA since 2010 B.S.
