JANAKPURDHAM: Local level employees in Madhesh Province have launched a protest demanding their placement.
A total of 160 employees from various categories, including technical, accounting, revenue, and administration, are staging a sit-in at the Office of the Chief Minister and the Council of Ministers in Janakpurdham.
The employees have expressed frustration, stating that despite several written and verbal requests, they have received no positive response from the authorities.
Bir Bahadur Salaura, Coordinator of the Local Level Employees’ Movement Committee, explained that these employees, who passed the Federal Public Service Commission exams and were recommended for posting in Madhesh Province, have been without positions or duties for over a year.
He added that, despite repeated appeals, the provincial government has failed to assign them to any offices.
Approximately 1,000 local level employees are currently working in the province.
Salaura further noted that while employees recommended by the Federal Public Service Commission have been posted in other provinces, this has not been the case in Madhesh.
The protesting employees have also been denied perks and benefits as they remain unposted.
