KATHMANDU: On Friday, locals from the Chure region in Madhesh Province staged a protest in Kathmandu, demanding actions to address the exploitation of the Chure region and resolve the drinking water issues there.

The protest took place in the New Baneshwor area of Kathmandu, with demonstrators highlighting the severe scarcity of drinking water despite the region’s overall water abundance.
